PM Modi Shares 5 Resolutions For Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims
The Amarnath Yatra, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is an annual Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The yatra officially began on July 3, with the first batch of pilgrims leaving from Jammu. To mark the auspicious day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official X account to extend his heartfelt wishes to the pilgrims. He wrote, “The Amarnath Yatra, connected with the darshan of Baba Barfani, is an eternal chapter in our spiritual tradition and cultural unity. My wish is that this journey of the devotees of Shiva be safe and auspicious in every way!”
Not just that, he also outlined five ‘sankalps’ (resolutions) for devotees to follow during their journey.
- Devotees were urged to keep the pilgrimage routes clean and preserve the natural beauty of the Himalayan ecosystem.
- Pilgrims should follow all traffic rules, safety directives and travel advisories issued by the authorities.
- PM Narendra Modi also urged devotees to support local products in Jammu and Kashmir under the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
- Pilgrims were encouraged to participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting a sapling after returning from the yatra.
- Devotees were also urged to promote unity, harmony and brotherhood during the Amarnath Yatra.

Pilgrimage Will Continue Till August 28
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked the Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, disaster response teams, healthcare workers, sanitation staff and administrative officials for ensuring the smooth conduct of the yatra. According to Hindustan Times, the authorities have deployed a multi-layered security grid and strengthened surveillance along the pilgrimage routes.
The 57-day pilgrimage will continue till August 28 this year. The shrine, located at an altitude of over 12,000 feet in the Himalayas. It houses the naturally formed ice Shivling, believed to be a manifestation of Lord Shiva.
