Japan Named World’s Most Powerful Passport While India Ranks 76th

Japan has been rated as the world’s most powerful passports in the Henley Passport Index.

What Is It?

The Henley Passport Index is the only passport index that is based on IATA data and prepared by an extensive research which is then supported by expert commentary and updated regularly. The Henley and Partners analyze 199 different passports across 227 destinations around the world and prepare the list with ranks respectively annually.

Japan has been named the most powerful passport which ranks on top of the index, granting free-access to 189 countries.

India has secured its position at number 76 in the index with its holders getting visa-free access to 59 countries.
