Yes, Jeddah Central Development Company, which is a PIF-backed firm is undertaking this massive project. As a result, the plan is to build major landmarks in the city, such as the Stadium, the Opera House, and the Oceanarium. Here’s all about it.

Jeddah Central Development Company Awards Contracts For Major Landmarks

A major Public Investment Fund-backed company, it recently signed a SAR12 billion construction deal. Yes, the aim was to build major landmarks in the city, such as the Stadium, the Opera House, and the Oceanarium. In fact, according to a report by Arabian Business, it was revealed that the PIF-backed firm will also fund the infrastructure construction work, which will be happening in the first phase of this major redevelopment.

In case you are wondering, Jeddah Central includes several notable landmarks in the Red Sea City and it will be located in the Al Andalus area, it will be right by the coast of the Red Sea. Not to mention, it will be spread across a whopping 5.7 million m².

A Brief Glimpse Of The Three Architectural Landmarks

The Oceanarium once complete, will offer a truly immersive experience for people. It will focus on the unique environment, flora, and of the Red Sea. The contract for this has been awarded to Modern Building Leaders company. It’s worth mentioning that this will be a window to the wonders of the Red Sea, offering an unparalleled experience to the people.

The Stadium contract has been awarded to the Saudi unit of China Railway Construction Corp. LTD and Sama Construction for Contracting. In case you’re wondering, it will be able to seat 45,000 fans at a time and will be hosting major local and international games.

For the Opera House, the Jeddah Central Development Company has awarded a contract to Modern Building Leaders company. Featuring three major halls, these will be compliant with international specifications. As a result, it will be a splendid platform for creativity and inspiration, thereby positioning Jeddah as a cultural hub.

When Will It Be Completed?

Set to open by 2027, for both local and international visitors, other key attractions are also going to make this complex absolutely jaw-dropping. This includes the Marina District, Wellness District, And Sports Park District, to name a select few. As it happens, plans are also inclusive of the development of contemporary residential areas. Featuring more than 25,000 housing units and multiple hotels, these will feature more than 6500 rooms.
