Jennifer Winget

The ‘Bepannah’ actor Jennifer Winget recently joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for one of our exciting episodes of Tere Gully Mein. We explored the lanes of Versova, ate excellent Goan food, laughed a lot and got to know her better. Reflecting on her acting career, Jennifer Winget shared that she never took professional training to hone her acting skills; most of it was picked up from the filming sets. Read on.

Jennifer Winget Never Enrolled In Any Acting Schools

At the mere age of 12 years, Jennifer Winget debuted in the 2000 film ‘Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya,’ starring Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala. She had a great time shooting for that film and took a break to focus on her schooling. As she grew up, a plethora of offers poured in from the television. She recalled the idiot box was gaining popularity among the masses and so were the daily soaps.

Therefore, she began juggling work and studies and it was only during her college years that she decided to quit studies and pursue her passion. Since then, she hasn’t looked back and everything fell into place. The actor mentioned, “Working on daily soaps is hard but we were learning so much! I didn’t go to any acting school or didn’t really learn acting. I learned everything on the job.”

The actor continued, “It was overwhelming at times but I think because of that I’m who I’m today and it was trial by fire.” Jennifer Winget reflected how coming from a non-filmy background helped her do better and cop with every acting challenge with her head held high.
