On the recent episode of Tere Gully Mein, Jennifer Winget joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, to explore some amazing eateries in Versova. They embraced the tropical vibes, found a mini-Goa in Mumbai and chatted endlessly about travel, TV serials and, of course, food. While conversing about her childhood days, she reflected on how her mother, Prabha Winget, was associated with the film industry. This is also why Jennifer entered this industry.
Jennifer Winget’s Mother Worked At A South Indian Film Company
Jennifer Winget was born to a Punjabi mother and a Christian dad. Growing up, she had the best of both cultures be it food, festivals or any other cultural aspect. Her mom, Prabha, introduced Jennifer to the TV industry at an early age as she worked at a film company.
The company mainly focused on South Indian films where she worked in the administration department. The job was logistical rather than filming or acting. Jennifer Winget recalled tagging along with her mother to her office during summer vacations.
In this manner, Jennifer was exposed to film sets as a kid. She had the opportunity to watch the process of filming closely and learn about them in depth. Slowly, she immersed herself in the beauty of this glamorous industry and ended up being in front of the camera. The rest is history as she found her true passion!

Slowly, she began working with Balaji Telefilms Limited. She was offered numerous daily soaps and soon became a household name through ‘Bepannah’, ‘Dill Mill Gayye’, ‘Saraswatichandra’ and more.
