Air connectivity in Kolkata is at quite an amazing position with connections to many domestic airports and international destinations as well. Well, the connectivity is all set to get stronger with Jettwings Airways kickstarting operations in West Bengal connecting several nearby places. An official of Jettwings Airways stated about the beginning of flight services to 3 places in the state.
JettWings Airways Set To Operate Flights To New Destinations In West Bengal
Looks like the flights and airline options will soon increase in West Bengal with this Guwahati-based airline starting regular journeys. According to a report by The Economic Times-Infra, Jettwings Airways will launch flight services from Guwahati to Cooch Behar Airport in West Bengal. It is a part of the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme of the central government.
The airline will also take off in Bengal by expanding its connectivity to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata and Bagdogra Airport. The plan is to run commercial flight services to these two above-mentioned airports in West Bengal. Apart from 3 places in the state, there are more plans for the airline to expand its operations and connect with more domestic destinations.
Jettwings Airways plans to initiate commercial flights connecting Assam and West Bengal in June only if the pre-planned goals fall into place accordingly. Connecting Kolkata and Guwahati, the flights will be starting from Guwahati to Kolkata via Assam’s Rupsi Airport.

The Airline Received Approval For Operations In 12 Sectors

It is amazing news for Jettwings Airways as it finally got the approval to operate flight services in 12 sectors. The permission is to fly in sectors across Northeast India, Bihar, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. This development marks a phenomenal growth in regional air travel experiences. This beginning also falls under the UDAN scheme.
