With over two decades of experience on India’s roads, Rajesh has unexpectedly become a popular YouTuber. His channel, R Rajesh Vlogs, has attracted over 1.86 million subscribers.
The Jharkhand Truck Driver Who Became A YouTuber
Rajesh’s journey to fame started with his love for cooking. What began as a hobby soon turned into a successful online venture. Thanks to his growing popularity, Rajesh is now enjoying financial success that allows him to build his first home.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajesh opened up about his finances. He shared that he currently earns between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000 a month from driving trucks. However, his income from YouTube is far more lucrative. Depending on viewership, his monthly earnings from YouTube range between ₹4 lakh and ₹5 lakh, with peak months reaching up to ₹10 lakh.
The Rise To Fame
Rajesh’s rise to fame wasn’t immediate. He recalled his first viral video, which featured a voiceover. The video prompted viewers to request a face reveal. His son stepped in to help, creating a video that showcased Rajesh’s face. This video went viral, amassing 4.5 lakh views in just one day.
Despite his success on YouTube, Rajesh continues to juggle both his trucking job and his online channel. He credits his family’s support for making this possible. His father, also a truck driver, was the sole breadwinner for their family of five. Each month, his father would send ₹500, a sum that often fell short of meeting the family’s needs. The shortage led them to rely on loans.
In his most recent video, Rajesh discusses the Bihar floods while on a long-haul journey to Guwahati. He mentions that he still has 850 km left to travel before reaching his destination.
