This crowning glory of Jammu and Kashmir has finally witnessed the first snowfall of the season. The town, located about 2,650 meters above sea level, looks stunning as it is covered with snow. Jammu and Kashmir’s Pir Panjal range looks stunningly beautiful as Gulmarg witnesses the season’s first snowfall. Social media users did not miss this chance and grabbed their mobiles and cameras to click on this beautiful moment and post it on various platforms. 

Gulmarg is known as one of the most visited destinations in Jammu and Kashmir. The view during snowfall here is something one should witness at least once in their lifetime. During the snow season, many people showcase their creativity by making snow sculptures. 

The lovely town turns into a complete winter wonderland between December and March. The snowfall actually brought the temperature down to 15°C. According to the weather report, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir will remain dry for the next two days.

Gulmarg: A Popular Skiing Destination

Gulmarg is known for having the world’s highest golf course. It is revered for many winter sports as well. Gulmarg is not only the most popular tourist destination; it is also the most popular skiing destination in India. 

It is also known for the season of lupine flowers, which lasts until the end of July after starting off in mid-June, apart from its magical snowfall. 

For those who are unaware, this town is also home to the world’s largest igloo cafe, which opened in February 2022. This year, it also became home to a glass igloo restaurant.
