Ordering food through online apps and getting it delivered right to our doorsteps is a wonderful experience only when the dishes delivered to us taste good and are of good quality. We often hear Netizens complaining about receiving poor orders from restaurants, bakeries, and more such places. This time, a journalist had a terrible experience after ordering chicken biryani using Zomato. Why did he complain about the order? Let’s find out.
Journalist Used Zomato To Order Chicken Biryani From Itminaan Biryani
Taking to the X platform, Sambhav (@Sambhavkumar02) shared his experience of ordering from Itminaan Biryani.
I ordered a 1 kg chicken biryani from Itminan Biryani through @zomato, and what I received was incredibly disappointing. Foul-smelling rice and literally not a single piece of chicken. This is outright fraud under @zomato platform. 1/3 ⬇️

As shared in the X post, he used Zomato to place an order for 1 kg of chicken biryani from the famous restaurant. The order was packed and delivered in a clay matka sealed nicely with chutneys and accompaniments in small plastic containers. He was shocked after receiving the “incredibly disappointing” order. Neither did the order have a single chicken piece nor did the so-called chicken biryani’s rice taste nice. The rice had a foul smell.
When I contacted the restaurant for a refund, they shifted the blame to Zomato. @deepigoyal, it’s essential to crack down on such scams exploiting Zomato’s name. Is it acceptable to send a fancy matka filled with 3 to 4 small rotten chicken chunks? 2/3 ⬇️

After receiving the horrible biryani order, he contacted the restaurant for a refund. To his surprise, Itminaan Biryani blamed Zomato for the mishap. Tagging Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, Sambhav stated that it is important “to crack down on such scams exploiting Zomato’s name.”
I paid ₹466, and after raising a complaint, @zomatocare offered a mere ₹116 as a refund. Is this how Zomato, Intminam Biryani, and @Eatclub_ think they can make money by scamming customers? ⬇️

The journalist paid ₹466 for this order from Itminaan Biryani. However, Zomato Care offered him a refund of just ₹116. “Is this how Zomato, Intminam Biryani, and EatClub think they can make money by scamming customers,” Sambhav asked.
He also added a picture and a video showing the quality of the rice. The video highlights that no chicken pieces were packed inside the matka.
