The pothole was spotted in the Dausa district in Rajasthan. According to a report by India TV News, it was reported at pillar number 182.300 close to the Bhandarej Interchange. The huge pit in the middle of the road grabbed everyone’s attention and soon turned out to be major breaking news. A junior employee spoke regarding the incident and blamed rats for forming the pothole on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. According to his comment, he held any rat or small animal responsible for digging the hole.
The news of rats getting blamed raised many eyebrows and also led to the junior employee’s termination. According to a report by India Today, the junior employee was a junior staff member of KCC Buildcon. To put an end to all kinds of confusion, the concerned firm shared factual updates about the massive pit on the expressway.
The company sent a letter to the National Highway Authority of India explaining that the employee did not have the technical understanding to comment on the incident. The fired employee claimed to be a maintenance manager. The firm also stated that his remarks on the project and his job position were wrong and he was a junior staff member.
What Caused The Massive Hole?
Balveer Yadav is the director of the expressway project in the Dausa area. According to the India Today report, Mr. Yadav stated that the portion of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway caved in and formed the hole because of a water leak. After heavy rainfall, the soil began to sink here causing the hole.
The contractor involved with the project repaired the pit as soon as possible. The portion was fenced and the reconstruction process was conducted.
These are the recent updates about the pothole on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
