Kajol Joins Kamiya Jani On Sunday Brunch, Talks About Her Love For Bengali Food, Films & More

After three memorable appearances on Sunday Brunch, Kajol returns for a fourth time, this time sharing stories over delicious Bengali cuisine. In this episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, prepared Gondhoraj Sandesh for a very special guest, the talented and versatile actress Kajol, who joined her at Oh! Calcutta in Mumbai. From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Dil Wale Dulhaniyan Le Jayenge, the actress has starred in some of the amazing hits in the Bollywood industry. She opened up about motherhood, family, career, her recently released film, Maa and more. And with her natural humour, she lit up the entire episode! Read on to know more about it.

This Is How Kajol’s Family Unwinds

Talking with Kajol is never boring! With the ever-charming and talkative queen of Bollywood, we kicked off the episode with a fun and interactive game. One of the highlights was a hilarious challenge where she had to translate famous dialogues from her films into any language other than Hindi. One of the dialogues was of the iconic character Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where she translated ‘Rahul is a cheater’ into Marathi. In her humorous style, she said, ‘Rahul, tu cheater aahe. Tu cheater aahes,’ which had all of us laughing out loud.

Kamiya asked Kajol how she and her family spend quality time together amidst their busy schedules. Kajol replied, “We, as a family, just love to chill together. We’re all so busy; Nysa is abroad, my son is in 10th grade, Ajay is at work, and I’m working, so everyone’s caught up in their own thing. That’s why on Sundays, we try to catch up with each other. Sometimes Ajay’s sister comes over, or my mom drops by, so it is a family time together.” For the actress, catching up with her children and spending quality time with loved ones is what truly makes her Sundays special.

Kajol Is As Protective As ‘Kali Maa’

While talking about the movie Maa, Kajol shared a great mythological story of Kali Maa and a devil named Raktbeej. This film is her first ever horror film, and she took it because the script was intriguing and unique. Kajol’s character in the film fiercely protects her child, and she resonates that character with her real-life role of being a mom. She said, “I am very protective and I believe every mother is, but we also have to let our children grow and we have to expose them to the world. We should let them fall and allow them to find their strengths, and how will they find all of that if we just keep protecting them?” She even opened up about how she deals with the trolls and comments on social media and how she encourages her children to deal with it.
