In a tragic turn of events in Delhi, a stage collapsed in Kalkaji Mandir which resulted in a loss of life and multiple injured people. During a Mata Jagran in the temple on January 27, stampede-like chaos led to this fatal incident that left people in a frenzy. In a fatal incident on Saturday midnight, a stage collapse in Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir led to a life loss and 17 injured people. This stage was constructed with wood on an iron frame and was a platform during a Mata Jagran there. There were around 1,500 to 1,600 people present at the temple during the event. Around 12:30 AM, several of them tried to climb the platform which resulted in its collapse.

A lady was killed during this whole ordeal. People present there tried to rush her to the hospital in an auto but she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The injured people were taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, and MAX Hospital in Delhi. So far, they have all been declared stable with some fractures and bruises.
Singer B Praak was also present at the event. He expressed his deep grief about the chaos in a story he uploaded on his Instagram page and said, “What happened while I was singing is extremely unfortunate.”

Delhi Police Denies Giving Permission For The Event In Kalkaji Mandir
According to Delhi Police, the event was held without permission. They have said that around 1,500-1,600 people attended the Mata Jagran which usually lasts overnight. They, however, deployed sufficient staff around the temple premises to maintain law and order. Now, a case has been registered against the organisers of the event. They have been booked under Sections 337, 304A, and 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
