Kanjurmarg Railway Station welcomes over a lakh passengers every day and the rush is clearly quite high mostly throughout the day. The good news is that the awaited north-south connector of this station has now been opened for one and all. Connecting prominent places in the city, this significant infrastructural development is likely to solve some issues for pedestrians.

It was on March 11, 2024, when the connector was opened to be used by the public. It creates a strong connection between Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road and LBS Road with Kanjurmarg East. With the help of this north-south connector, people can now easily walk across the Kanjurmarg station without even going inside the platform and facing the daily crowd, according to a report by Mid-Day.

Not only do passengers visit the Kanjurmarg station to catch trains but non-travellers also need to visit here. But with the connector, they cannot travel in this manner and cross the station. A significant reason behind planning this project was to enhance connectivity among different bridges in that area. Another focus was to decrease the number of pedestrians visiting the platform but not to catch trains.

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has worked and finished the construction of the under trespass control work of the Kanjurmarg Linkway between the Kalyan end foot overbridge and the eastside walkway, a senior MRVC official shared. The department also worked on the under-trespass control work of the CSMT end food overbridge and the Mumbai Urban Trasport Project-III.
