The Delhi Traffic Police has released traffic advisories for commuters from July 13 to July 23. Restrictions are expected on Kalindi Kunj and Agra Canal Road due to the Kanwar Yatra. These measures, intended to ensure the safe passage of pilgrims, may cause heavy traffic. Commuters are advised to take alternative routes. Two lanes on the Kalindi Kunj bridge, from Okhla Barrage to Okhla Bird Sanctuary, will remain closed until the yatra concludes.
According to the report by The Daily Jagran, Noida’s Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, Lakhan Singh Yadav, said the restrictions are being enforced in coordination with the Delhi Traffic Police. He also confirmed that personnel have been deployed at key spots like Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Chilla Border. Thousands of pilgrims are currently using the route, and their numbers will likely rise in the coming days.
Officials Advise Using Metro and Alternate Roads
To reduce congestion, officials are urging commuters to use alternate routes such as the DND Flyway or the Delhi Metro, especially during peak hours. As per The Daily Jagran, the Noida authorities have deployed around 300 police personnel to manage the traffic. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have stationed 1,000 officers along 13 major Kanwar routes across the city.
If you are unfamiliar, Kalindi Kunj is a crucial link for thousands of commuters between South Delhi and Noida, particularly for officegoers. Despite advisories from the Delhi Traffic Police, congestion remained severe on stretches heading towards Shaheen Bagh.
