Karnataka’s state health department has ordered that patients who test positive for COVID-19 remain isolated at home. There are 34 JN.1 variant cases in the state at this time. Here are the details of the home isolation in Karnataka.
Karnataka Government Mandates Home Isolation For COVID-19 Patients
Dinesh Gundu Rao, the minister of health for Karnataka, says nothing is concerning and the government is well-prepared. Further, he stated that there are 430 current cases, 400 of which are isolated at home and the remaining 400 of whom are hospitalised. There are 7-8 ICU patients and for now, everything is alright.

In addition, he advised people to continue keeping their social distance. The minister also stated that the booster shot will be administered to senior citizens if they want it. The new year is approaching, therefore the administration is encouraging people to keep their physical distance.

Cabinet Meeting To Discuss Preventive Measures
On December 26, a meeting of the cabinet subcommittee was convened to discuss the preventive actions against COVID-19. He presided over the conference in Bengaluru when several decisions were made.
According to the statement, the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bengaluru and the National Institute of Virology in Pune would receive an adequate number of samples for WGS (by GoI criteria). LMO and PSA plants need to be kept ready. PESO licences need to be acquired in advance.
Additionally, mobile Priority will be given to acquiring oxygen generation and filling units (at least one in each division) in order to increase the State’s capacity to fill oxygen. Hospitals must conduct mock exercises to make sure they are ready. Ventilators and hospital beds must always be available.
Employees of both government and non-government organisations are eligible for a seven-day home isolation leave if their COVID-19 test results are positive.

In terms of the total number of JN.1 cases recorded in India, as of December 25, there were 69 cases of the subvariant in the nation.
