Karnataka is the 3rd most-affected state by the coronavirus in India, after Maharashtra and Chhatisgarh. The state reported 4991 new COVID-19 cases on April 2. While there is no lockdown or night curfew implemented in the state, stricter guidelines have been introduced to curb the spread of the coronavirus. On April 2. the state government issued a notification informing citizens of the new Covid-19 guidelines in the state. The guidelines include shutting swimming pools and gyms once again and reducing the capacity of cinema halls to 50 per cent. Here’s everything you need to know.
No Lockdown Or Night Curfew In Karnataka; Strict Covid Regulations Announced
Karnataka Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar issued the order for Covid-19 guidelines in the state on April 2. The government notification states, ” Classes from 6-9 to be suspended, gyms, swimming pools to remain closed, rallies, dharnas prohibited, and a maximum 50% seating capacity in cinema halls to be allowed.” “No gatherings will be allowed at places of worship. “The restrictions will remain in force till April 20. While the government has not hinted at any night curfews or lockdowns in Karnataka, these new Covid guidelines must be adhered to strictly. The total number of coronavirus cases has risen to 10.06 lakh and the death toll has reached 12,591. The active cases of Covid-19 stands at 34,219.

New Covid Guidelines Issued In Karnataka
- Classes in schools from 6 to 9 will be suspended. Classes 10, 11 and 12 can continue in the existing mood. Students don’t need to mandatorily give their attendance in person.
- Classes due for Board or University exams for Health Sciences can continue. Classes of higher and professional courses to be suspended.
- Residential hostels and boarding schools to shut down except for classes 10, 11 and 12.
- Gatherings and functions in places of worship will be banned. Individuals can visit and offer prayers.
- Gym, party hall, clubhouse, swimming pool and other common facilities in apartment complexes to be shut.
- Swimming pools and gyms will be closed.
- Dharnas and rallies for any reason will be prohibited.
- The number of passengers in public transport will not exceed seating capacity.
- Offices and workplaces to follow work from home as far as possible.
- Cinema Halls to permit only 50 per cent seating capacity or alternate seating,
- Bars, restaurants and clubs only permit 50 per cent of seating capacity.
- The restrictions on congregations and public gatherings during religious festivals and fairs continue as before.
So folks in Karnataka, these are the new guidelines that need to be followed strictly. Swimming pools and gyms are once again shut and cinema halls shall operate at 50 per cent seating capacity.
