Kasol Goes Through A Shut Down Of 48 Illegal Hotels In A HC Order

Kasol undergoes a major shutdown wherein 48 illegal properties will be sealed in Kullu, Manali and nearby areas.

What Is It?

In the light of a recent violent incident that took place last year in May where an angry hotelier allegedly shot Assistant Town Planner Shail Bala, section 144 has been implemented starting from 25th June 2018 onwards.

What’s In It?

Kasol has around 2,000 hotels out of which approximately 1,500 are running on an illegal basis. Only 638 properties out of these are registered with the tourism and excise departments and the HC has ordered to seal all the illegal properties.

This was followed by the Deputy Commissioner asking people to submit any illegal holding of weapons to ensure a safe lockdown.
