Kedarnath News: Temperature Falls To -0.2 Degrees & Other Latest Updates From This Revered Place

Kedarnath is considered one of the holiest places in the country and each year, it receives millions of pilgrims as they trudge toward its numerous pristine temples to receive blessings. Recently, this revered place witnessed snowfall and a drastic decline in temperature. There are also a number of other Kedarnath news. Kedarnath News: Updates From The Revered Place

1. Kedarnath Receives Snowfall

Home to a number of holy shrines, Kedarnath recently received fresh snowfall. According to an article recently published by The Times of India or TOI, the snowfall began on Sunday. Since then, the temperature has plunged to -0.2 degrees. Other parts of Uttarakhand have also received snowfall and some have received rain. This is the first snowfall at the shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri.

The snowfall has mostly been received in high-altitude regions while low-lying areas have received rain. The meteorological department of the region issued an alert on their social media regarding this weather update.

2. Char Dham Yatra Updates: Winter Closure Dates

Out of the Char Dhams of Kedarnath, Gangotri Dham and Yamunotri Dham have announced their dates of closure. The Gangotri Dham is located near the Gangotri Glacier which is the point of origin for the River Gangar, the holiest river in the country.

The Gangotri Dham will close for winter on November 14. The Yamunotri Dham will close on the following day, November 15. The closing of Yamunotri Dham coincides with the festival of Bhai Dooj. The closure date for the famous Badrinath Temple will be announced on October 24.

3. Development Projects In Kedarnath

On his recent visit to Uttarakhand, the prime minister, Narendra Modi, mentioned that the government is undertaking a number of initiatives to boost and improve tourism in the region. A lot of construction projects have been completed at Kedarnath which contribute to enhancing the visitor experience. He even mentioned the Char Dham Mega Project, an infrastructure project which will improve connectivity and boost tourism.

4. Jaqueline Fernandez Visits Kedarnath

The superstar Jaqueline Fernandez recently visited this beautiful and spiritual place. Pictures of her visit went viral on social media and they were everywhere. Her visit was primarily for darshan. Pictures of her with sandalwood on her forehead have been all over the Internet. She recently finished shooting for her film Fateh, as per her latest Instagram post.
