Kerala government revealed at the Global Women Conference on Gender-Inclusive and Responsible Tourism that an audit report has been finished to assess the existing status of women-friendly surroundings in the tourist sector. Over the course of three days, the Global Women Conference on Gender-Inclusive Responsible Tourism will be held at Mankulam, near Munnar.
According to Kerala’s tourism minister, the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society (KRTMS) arranged the gender equity symposium in partnership with Kerala Tourism and UN Women, as reported by CNBCTV18.
The findings from the report will be discussed at the event, which will include specialists from around the world and help determine future directions. Congress MP Dean Kuriakose said he was proud to organise a significant international conference on gender justice in the hill district, which is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, as reported by CNBCTV18.

The first-ever Gender Audit Report for Tourism in Kerala, which was put together by UN Women and the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society, was delivered by Sikha Surendran, the state’s tourism director. In order to enhance women-friendly programmes, she committed to carrying out similar audits and getting input from female travellers, as reported by CNBCTV18.
Since its inception in 2008, Kerala’s Responsible Tourism program has expanded into a vast grassroots network of 25,188 registered units, of which 17,632 are owned or headed by women. Arts, crafts, and traditional livelihoods are supported by RT initiatives.

Women entrepreneurs and grassroots leaders in the tourist sector will be honoured and promoted at the conference.
