Born from the coconuts of his sprawling 15-acre farm, Sebastian’s wine is a harmonious blend of tender coconut water and tropical fruits like mango, banana, papaya, dragon fruit, and jackfruit. Unlike traditional grape wines, this one offers delicate tropical notes with a subtle hint of coconut. It is certainly a refreshing alternative for wine enthusiasts. According to the Times Now reports, this wine has an alcohol content of 8-10%. It’s a light and delightful drink perfect for every palate.

Sebastian’s journey began in 1998, after his retirement as a deputy tehsildar. A lifelong farmer, he started experimenting with blending tender coconut water with exotic fruits in 2004. By 2007, his unique recipe had earned a patent. However, the journey didn’t end there. It wasn’t until 2023 that Sebastian received the necessary license from Kerala’s Excise Department to produce and sell this innovative wine on a large scale, according to Open Digest.

The road to success wasn’t without hurdles. From navigating licensing complexities to resolving conflicts with China’s existing patents on coconut wine production, Sebastian’s perseverance stood strong. According to Times Now, his efforts were recognised when he received Kerala’s prestigious “Kera Kesari” award, celebrating his contributions to agriculture.

The introduction of tender coconut wine marks a new chapter in India’s wine industry. Made in a tiny winery on Sebastian’s property, this distinctive drink is ready to find a home in foreign markets. The Kerala government has lauded Sebastian’s initiative. According to Open Digest, an Excise Department official stated, “This innovative agri-business is a step forward for diversifying Kerala’s agricultural sector.”

Sebastian is now collaborating with companies to establish a state-of-the-art winery on his farm. Soon, his tender coconut wine will be available under a registered brand, promising a unique addition to India’s beverage market.

Sebastian’s tender coconut wine is a story of determination, creativity, and the transformative power of farming. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or someone who appreciates innovation, this is your sign to try this refreshing new creation.

Cheers to Sebastian and his extraordinary journey!
