Kerala: One Dead, Over 30 Injured After Multiple Blasts At A Gathering In Kalamassery In Kochi

Kochi witnessed a horrifying experience in the morning as multiple explosions were reported there. Jehovah’s Witnesses is a Christian group and it conducted a religious convention on Sunday morning. All of a sudden, multiple bombs blasted at that prayer meeting in Kalamassery. The sudden blast at the prayer convention of the Christian group has led to the loss of life, several injuries, and more.

What Happened At The Prayer Meeting Of Jehovah’s Witnesses In Kalamassery

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Takshaka (@katiyakashinath) shared how there were coordinating blasts where Jews live in Kalamassery.

The unexpected explosions at the convention centre have shocked everyone. Over 2,400 people were present at the gathering on Sunday morning. There were kids, men, and women in the convention. It was around 9:45 AM today when the explosions began at the prayer gathering venue, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle. When the attendees were singing their hymn, the bombs blasted consecutively.

Anshul Saxena (@AskAnshul) took to the microblogging platform to share important information about the blast at the convention centre in Kalamassery.

Scary pictures and videos of the horrifying incident are making rounds on social media platforms. People of all ages can be seen running around and shouting in fear with fire blazing all around.

The exact cause leading to the consecutive bomb blasts at the gathering is yet to be known. A proper investigation is taking place right now by police and different teams to find the cause behind this life-threatening incident at a prayer meeting attended by more than 2,400 people from many nearby places.

Many people present at the venue of the prayer meeting shared how devotees were praying with closed eyes when the bombings happened, according to the Deccan Herald report.

Following the explosions, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan shared how explosions are considered as ‘a grave incident’ by the government. Senior police officers are there to conduct a probe of this case. He also added that the topmost priority after the incident was to arrange and provide proper treatment to the injured people.
