If you live in Mumbai and have to travel every day, chances are that you’re more than frustrated by your daily commute. Each day, a new road is dug up, bottlenecking an already-choked roadway. All of this, thanks to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or the BMC. Recently, comedian Rohan Joshi shared a scathing critique of the BMC, expressing frustration at the pains of travelling within the city. Needless to say, it struck a few chords.
Rohan Joshi Shares A Caustic Critique Of The BMC
Rohan Joshi took to Instagram and shared a sarcastic rant about what he deemed to be BMC’s ineptitude. He mentioned that the BMC should just release the exact amount of ransom that they need from the people in order for them to leave the streets and Mumbaikars alone.
In the rant, he also highlighted how, owing to the number of constructions in the city, there are people who are literally losing their lives for no other reason than simply because some BMC official did not do their job properly.
The post was shared around 18 hours ago and has already managed to garner close to 44 thousand likes and even more views.
Other Accounts Who Shared Similar Frustrations About The City
Rohan Joshi is not the first person to criticise BMC’s perennial road-digging. Another famous meme page, Andheri West Sh*tposting, has also spoken about this issue. They recently shared a post showing another dug-up road.
What made the post even more anger-inducing was the fact that the road was not an old one. It was a newly finished, newly-laid road that was dug up shortly after it was completed. While the reason for this was not specified, it is nevertheless worth wondering why a recently built road would need to be dug up so soon again.
These posts just highlight the frustrating experience of living in Mumbai. Though it is dubbed the City of Dreams, for many, it is also the City of Nightmares.
