National Geographic recently ranked this course as one of the world’s most breathtaking running routes, and honestly, they’re not wrong. Picture yourself racing through 5,000 years of history with the mighty pyramids towering beside you. That’s exactly what’s on the cards this December.
Whether you’re a professional runner or an amateur, this race has you should definitely be on your bucket list. The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon has 3 versions of the race: 5K, 10K, and 21K. So no matter how big or small your goal is, this race has you sorted in km. The tournament has no age barrier. Also, the 10K and 21K routes are AIMS-certified.
The Route With A Dash Of Hills
Let’s talk course details. The entire route is all yours. Picture no cars, no honking, no distractions. The 5K track keeps it nice and easy, perfect for beginners or anyone just soaking in the vibes. But if you’re signing up for the 10K or 21K, get ready for a few sneaky hills and some solid inclines. You’ll even head down towards the legendary Sphinx, but fair warning, the climb back up towards the finish line will test your legs! As for keeping it official, they’re using the MyLaps Timing System, the same high-tech setup used at the Olympics and the Boston Marathon. So, your timings are locked in with the best tech in the business.
