Boman Irani At Taj Palace: From Room Service To Stardom

Boman Irani had a long journey before he ever stepped into the world of Bollywood. In 1979, he was at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Colaba, Mumbai, where he had been working for the room service department.

Going back to that time, he remembered walking around the huge halls with a tray in hand containing tea, coffee, beverages, and baskets of fruit. He also handled other departments at the hotel, but room service had been a steady part of it.

Speaking on the video, Irani clearly became emotional talking about how his stay at the hotel taught him about discipline, humility, and the value of hard work. The experience helped form his personality, leading him eventually to a film career. Staying in the same corridors decades later, his visit was symbolic of how far he had progressed.
