If you type “budget destinations in India” on Google, you’d imagine finding results like McLeodganj, Nainital, Gokarna, or maybe even Goa in the summers. Never would we think that it is actually Bengaluru that would emerge as the cheapest destination in India this summer! As per Agoda’s Cheapest Destination list, Bengaluru is the most affordable tourist destination in India. Also, it is the only Indian destination that is featured on this list. This list is curated by the online travel agency on the basis of average hotel prices in the city and surprisingly Bengaluru made it to this list!

Bengaluru – India’s Cheapest Destination For Vacation

Despite the city’s high cost of living, Bengaluru has emerged as the cheapest holiday destination in India this summer. As revealed by Agoda, Bengaluru is one of the most affordable destinations and the only Indian city to feature in its ‘Cheapest Destination’ list for summer 2024. Agoda has compiled this list on the basis of average hotel room rates in the city. As per their numbers, the average hotel room rate in Bengaluru this summer is ₹4,584. With this number, the city was placed in the 6th position featuring eight destinations in total. Bengaluru has replaced Puri on this list this year. In fact, Puri topped the cheapest destinations list last year.

Talking about this list, Agoda’s Senior Country Director India Subcontinent and Maldives, Krishna Rathi said, “With many across Asia looking forward to upcoming public holidays like Songkran, Hari Raya, and Golden Week, April and May are a great time to plan a holiday. It is Agoda’s ongoing mission to help travellers see the world for less, and what better way to do that than by sharing the latest cheapest destinations ranking just in time for this popular travel time.”
