London buses are going on strike for the next four days. The strike will affect east London and Arriva routes in the north later this month. A tenth of London buses will be disrupted, and there will be no service on the strike routes. The drivers from the London bus garages in the north will be walking out on Tuesday. From routes to the dates of the strike, here’s everything you need to know.
London Buses Will Go On Strike
The drivers working at the north London bus garages will be walking out on June 20 Tuesday, June 21 Wednesday, June 27 Tuesday, and June 28 Wednesday. On these days, make sure you do not expect your buses at 5am or the time of the first bus.
The strikes will continue until 6am the next morning, so do not expect bus services in the night. The night bus services on the same route on June 19 and June 26 will not be affected by this strike.
The bus strike will disrupt up to 46 routes in parts of central and east London as well as north London. The routes that will be affected are 19, 29, 34, 38, 41, 73, 78, 102, 121, 123, 141, 144, 149, 150, 158, 175, 191, 192, 221, 242, 243, 253, 254, 259, 279, 307, 313, 318, 325, 329, 340, 341, 349, 377, 675, W3, W4, W6, N19, N29, N38, N41, N73, N242, N253, N279.

Organised By Unite Union After Rejection Of Pay Rise
The Unite union called the strike after its members rejected a 7 percent pay increase from Transport for London that the union claimed would result in a “real-terms pay cut.” With an hourly starting wage of £13.65 and an inflation rate of about 11.4 percent, drivers claim they cannot afford to live in London.
Sharon Graham, general secretary of Unite, said that Arriva has gotten its priorities wrong. Instead of paying huge dividends to the German government, they must concentrate on paying the workers fairly. The bus drivers at Arriva will have the union’s full backing because Unite is entirely focused on the jobs, pay, and conditions of its members.
Director of buses at Transport for London, Louise Cheeseman, said that there are other routes through which people can still travel to parts of central and east London as well as north London. But these routes will be way busier than normal because of the sudden traffic that will rise.
