Looking To Apply For A Passport? You Can Now Do It From Anywhere In India

In a new scheme launched by the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, Indian residents can now apply for a passport from any part of the country.

What Is It?

The new scheme has certainly eased off saving a lot of time and effort that goes into getting the passport made. Under the new scheme launched by Sushma Swaraj, you can now apply for a passport while residing in any part of the country.

What’s The Process?

You can now opt to apply for a passport from anywhere in India by simply visiting the Regional Passport Office (RPO) and the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POSK) for submitting the application. The applicant can submit the application irrespective of their residential address, whether it’s within the jurisdiction of the selected RPO or not.

The police verification would also be conducted at the address mentioned in the application form itself. The passport will be printed and despatched by RPO for application submission by the applicant to the address mentioned in the form. This means that you will no longer have to travel to your hometown to submit an application for the passport.

The minister has launched the facility of mobile application available in Android and IOS phones. You can apply, pay, and schedule appointments just from your phone.
