There’s nothing quite as beautiful as biting into fresh, ripe and juicy fruit. It instantly leaves you refreshed and craving for more. Quite a tongue twister ain’t it? Lemon Melon!

Lemon Melon Is The New Fruit In Japan’s Luxury Fruit Market!

As per a report by SoraNews24, the team at Suntory Flowers cultivated Lemon Melons from a special type of imported melon. After several experiments conducted on growing methods and harvesting periods, five farmers from Hokkaido’s Furano, over the course of five years were finally able to grow Lemon Melon.

Grown in limited quantities under a lot of care, nurture and supervision, this new fruit is an anomaly in the fruit industry. The fruit’s shape and size are similar to that of watermelon but sans the stripes. From the outside, it’s yellow-green in colour. When cut open, it sports a distinct, white colour. The Lemon Melon has the crispness of a pear when unripe and gets softer when ripe. The taste is sweet yet zingy like that of a lemon.
