Lucknow Building Collapse: 8 Dead, 28 Injured; Rescue Operations Underway

In a tragic series of incidents, a building in Lucknow collapsed and ended up claiming the lives of eight people. In addition to this, a total of 28 people have been injured in the incident. The State Disaster Response Force or the SDRF has been dispatched and rescue operations are going on as of now. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this tragic building collapse.

Lucknow Building Collapse: Eight Dead And 28 Injured

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, the incident took place around 5 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The building that collapsed was called Harmilap Building and it served as a warehouse for a pharmaceutical business.

Initially, the death toll was five; however, the SDRF recovered another three bodies. The bodies were identified as Jagrup Singh, who was 35 years old, Raj Kishore, who was 27 years old and Rudra Yadav, who was 24 years old.

If reports are to go by, officials are now trying their level best to ensure that no one else is trapped in the rubble of the building.

Other Important Details To Know About This Tragedy

As per the HT article, the building was constructed around four years ago. At the time of the collapse, the building was undergoing some construction and a number of victims were working on the ground floor when it happened.

As per the statement of a victim cited in the HT article, the workers came to the ground floor as it was raining heavily. They saw that one pillar had developed some cracks. Suddenly, the entire building came crashing down on them.

In addition to a pharmaceutical warehouse, the second floor of the building housed a cutlery warehouse. It is hoped that all of the victims of this tragic building collapse will receive adequate compensation for the losses they have incurred.
