The Length And Cost Of This Under-Construction Motorway
It will have a 1.5-metre boundary wall and will be constructed three to four metres off the ground. The motorway will parallel the NH-27 and require about ₹1,600 crores to build.
The Route This Expressway Will Cover
In addition to connecting Kanpur and Lucknow, the motorway would also run concurrently with NH-27, which unites the two cities. The planned and existing parallel roads are separated by around 8.5 kilometres. 38 underpasses, 38 main bridges, 3 significant bridges, and 6 flyovers will all be part of the project.
The Lucknow Kanpur motorway will be connected to the Lucknow Ring Road in order to reduce traffic on the main route. This motorway is the first of its sort to be built in Uttar Pradesh. For 3.5 kilometres, the road will follow NH 25 side by side. The route, which runs from Nawabganj to Kanpur via Bani, Banthara, Datauli Kantha, Neorna, Taura, Amarsas, and Rawal, will begin in Lucknow at Shaheed Path.
The Effect On Travel Time
By using the Lucknow Kanpur Expressway, the distance between the two cities may be travelled in 45 to 50 minutes instead of 1.5 to 3 hours. The road distance from Lucknow to Kanpur is 93 km, whereas the flying distance is 77 km. At the moment, commuters use the road, train, and air to go from Lucknow to Kanpur.
When Will It Be Completed?
Currently under development and scheduled to be finished by 2025, the Kanpur-Lucknow motorway is a huge undertaking. This expressway will also lessen city traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, spur investment growth, and promote infrastructure development, all of which will help the state’s economy.
