Lucknow: Thick Smoke Seen During Landing On Saudia Flight Carrying 250 Hajj Pilgrims; Flight Hits Technical Snag

On Sunday at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, which is in Lucknow, smoke was seen coming out of a Saudia aircraft that had just completed its flight from Jeddah. Causing a brief scare amongst people, the smoke started coming from the wheels of the aircraft shortly after it had landed. Here’s what happened at the scary incident

Smoke Scare About Saudia Flight At Lucknow Airport

When the flight SV3112 arrived at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, the ground staff immediately called the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Team. As revealed in a report by the Times of India, the team responded swiftly to the situation after there was smoke seen rising from the wheels of the aircraft. The emergency team had managed to contain the smoke before it could cause any damage to the aircraft. Moreover, airport authorities also confirmed that all the passengers were safe and they disembarked from the plane without any incident. This aircraft was carrying 250 passengers.

All Passengers Safe

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that there was no disruption to the regular flight operations either, and the officials have emphasised that this event was a minor one. It was handled accordingly, as a precautionary measure. However, the report also stated that an enquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the smoke.

The incident seemed to have occurred around 7 AM as reported by Times Now News. And talking more about the flight, this aircraft was mostly carrying Hajj Pilgrims and was scheduled to return to Jeddah later today.

The recent scare comes after the tragic accident of AI171, which led to the demise of 241 passengers, leaving one passenger miraculously alive. A tragedy that people still can’t stop thinking about.
