In alignment with Luxembourg’s participation in the Schengen framework, the country has extended its short-stay visa programme, also known as the Type C Visa, till the next year, i.e. 2025. The beneficiaries of this visa programme will therefore have a lot of conveniences. From the purpose of the visa programme to its eligibility criteria, here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this visa programme in Luxembourg.

According to an article which was recently published by Nairametrics, the short-stay Schengen visa programme has witnessed a number of changes over the course of this year. One of the changes made is that fee options have been updated for highly skilled workers.

The visa fee has also been increased to €90 (₹8,182 approx.) for adults. For children between the ages of six and twelve, on the other hand, the fee has been increased to €45( ₹4,091 approx.). 

In the month of July this year, Luxembourg also launched what they called an EU Blue Card Directive. This new directive was launched with the aim of simplifying visa processes for applicants from third-world countries. It is also put in place to ensure skilled immigration.

Purpose, Eligibility Criteria And Other Details About This Visa

There are a number of eligibility criteria that need to be met by applicants. Applicants must have: –

  1. A passport that is valid for at least three months after their scheduled departure date.
  2. Documented reason for travel, sufficient financial means and travel insurance that covers at least €30,000 and is valid across all three states.
  3. Proof of accommodation like hotel bookings.
  4. Completed and submitted the application form.
  5. All the required documents.

The applicants will also be vetted through the SIS.
