Luxury Car Brand Jaguar To Become Fully Electric From 2025; First All-Electric Land Rover Due In 2024

Luxury car group Jaguar Land Rover has already raised the bar for a luxury car in the world. They have the most luxurious machines equipped with the latest technology. However now, the UK automaker says that it will be fully electric by 2025. Meanwhile, Land Rover plans to release its first electric vehicle in 2024 and launch six fully electric models.

Jaguar I-Pace SUV Is JLR’s Only Fully-Automatic Car

According to reports, a £2.5 billion investment will go into Jaguar’s electrification and related technologies every year. Jaguar I-Pace SUV is the fully automatic car that has struggled to make inroads against other established electric carmakers. The electric car was not built in-house but instead by a contractor. According to reports, JLR had to pay a £35 million fine in the EU for missing emissions targets last year.

JLR Plans To Share Technology With Premium Company Tata Motors

Since JLR is a premium brand, they can charge high prices to cover modern batteries’ cost. They are also working towards sharing technology with parent company Tata Motors to reduce development costs. If there are no hiccups in the plan, JLR expects all Jaguars and 60% of Land Rovers to be zero-emissions vehicles by 2030.

UK Plans To Ban Combustion Engine For Vehicles

The UK plans to ban the sale of the internal combustion engine for vehicles this year. The internal combustion engine would also be banned in Norway by 2025, France by 2040, and California by 2035. JLR hopes to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2039.
