The Mahakumbh Mela is held once every 12 years and began on January 13. The 45-day mela will conclude on February 26 in Prayagraj and is expected to welcome more than 45 crore pilgrims. This year’s mela is considered to be especially rare and auspicious. According to reports, a mela like this occurs once every 144 years and it is rare because of the celestial positioning of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter. The alignment of these stars and planets is considered very auspicious and will bring luck and good fortune to those who take a holy bath in the Triveni Sangam.

According to the Hindustan Times, around 2,751 CCTV cameras, including 328 AI-enabled ones, have been placed around the Maha Kumbh Mela ground. Besides that, mela police have deployed advanced AI-powered analytics systems to improve surveillance and manage crowds.
