Curly Tales is back with another exciting episode of its much-loved Sunday Brunch series. And this time, we stepped into Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s residence, Varsha, to meet his wife, Amruta Fadnavis, a banker, singer, and social activist. In short, an all-rounder! She delighted our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani with a wholesome Sunday spread featuring Moringa Soup, Ragi Grain Pizza, Beetroot Chilla and more. All these dishes were enjoyed over an unfiltered conversation that will keep you hooked till the end. From her personal life to politics, Amruta opened up about everything. Here’s what went down in this special episode.
Amruta Fadnavis Welcomed Us Inside Maharashtra CM’s Residence, Varsha
This episode began with Kamiya stepping into Varsha, Maharashtra’s most powerful residence. We met CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis, who balances motherhood, career and social work with ease. Having spent many years in Nagpur, we asked her how it feels to live in Mumbai. Without missing a beat, she replied, “Mera jo dil hai woh Nagpur hai, aur dhadkan Mumbai ho chuki hai.” (My heart belongs to Nagpur, but my heartbeat is Mumbai)
Amruta then gave Curly Tales a sneak peek into Varsha, from the hall and meeting chamber to the long corridors and amazing interiors. She then took us to the kitchen, where preparations for the Sunday Brunch were underway. We also met their adorable pet parrot, Chicken, who surprisingly eats only fruits and veggies! The Fadnavis family also has dogs and even a small cow who loves eating Gud Ke Ladoo!
After the home tour, we moved on to the highlight of our show: the Sunday Brunch. The spread began with healthy Moringa Soup, something the Fadnavis family includes in their diet every alternate day after PM Modi highlighted its benefits. The soup is rich in calcium, potassium and antioxidants. Next came Ragi Grain Pizza, Zucchini Ratatouille, Hummus Avocado Chilli Toast, Beetroot Chilla, Tofu Sprout Toast and Kathi Roll. It was undoubtedly a healthy yet tempting feast!
Love, Life & Politics
Amruta Fadnavis also shared her first meeting story with CM Devendra Fadnavis, calling it a “typical arranged marriage setup.” She revealed that instead of meeting at home, she met him outside at a friend’s place. After a few meetings, they decided to get married. She also spoke about life after marrying a politician and how CM Devendra Fadnavis encouraged her to continue her career and even singing.
The conversation later turned playful with a fun game of ‘Who Do I Vote For’, where she answered light-hearted questions. Speaking about trolls on social media, Amruta said she sometimes feels disappointed that people focus on hate instead of the projects she is working on. Yet, she stays focused on moving forward and learning. This special Sunday Brunch episode ended with us thanking Amruta for inviting Curly Tales into her home and treating us to a hearty and healthy Sunday spread!
