This remarkable venture comes in the form of a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Uttarakhand. It also marks the dawn of an extraordinary era in the state’s tourism industry. With an unprecedented commitment of ₹1000 crore, MHRIL is set to construct 4-5 grandiose resorts, casting a spellbinding charm on Uttarakhand’s picturesque landscapes.
Mahindra Holidays To Construct 5 New Resorts In Uttarakhand
This investment marks a historic milestone for MHRIL, as it represents the largest investment the company has ever made in any state across the nation. It also aligns with MHRIL’s ambitious expansion plans, as they aim to increase their hospitality offerings from 5000 to 10,000 keys by the year 2030. The decision to collaborate with Uttarakhand is a testament to the state’s allure as a tourism destination.
As per The Hindu Business Line reports, Kavinder Singh, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd., expressed his admiration for the Uttarakhand government’s vision and foresight in bolstering the tourism industry. He commended the government’s efforts to create tourist-friendly infrastructure, establish various tourist destinations, circuits, and clusters, and invest in skill development initiatives to elevate tourism experiences to international standards.
Singh further emphasized that the pro-active support extended by the government, under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, the people’s affinity for hospitality in the state, and the presence of a robust tourism policy were key factors motivating MHRIL’s significant investment. He also expressed gratitude to the Government of Uttarakhand for their support in this endeavour.

Uttarakhand’s Tourist Paradise Expands
The Hindu Business Line reports that the planned resort destinations will encompass a wide range of tourism offerings, catering to diverse interests. These include religious sites like Haridwar and the Char Dhams. Wildlife experiences at Rajaji and Corbett National Parks, skiing adventures at Auli, and thrilling adventure tourism in Rishikesh will also be included. Uttarakhand boasts a wealth of amazing destinations that attract people of all age groups from across the country.

MHRIL aims to tap into this wanderlust with its investment. Importantly, this strategic investment will more than double MHRIL’s footprint in Uttarakhand. The company already operates resorts in prominent locations within the state, such as Jim Corbett, Mussoorie, Kanatal, and Binsar.
