A major fire broke out at a multi-storey electronics showroom building in Mumbai’s bustling Bandra area in the early hours of Tuesday, April 29. The incident took place at Linking Road Mall, a popular commercial hub, leading to a massive emergency response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade. Firefighters deployed 12 fire engines and 10 water tankers to the site to bring the situation under control. The video shared on X by the user @vipul2777 shows a major fire at Link Square Mall in Bandra. It was reported around 4:30 am. According to a report by Mid-day, the blaze originated in an electronics goods showroom located within the building. Thick plumes of black smoke quickly engulfed the surrounding area, creating panic among residents and nearby shop owners.
Firefighters battled the flames for several hours before managing to bring the fire under control. They confined the fire to the lower floors of the structure, preventing it from spreading further. Cooling operations are currently underway to ensure complete safety.
Mumbai Fire Brigade Acts Swiftly To Control The Blaze
The Mumbai Fire Brigade classified the incident as a Level 2 fire due to its intensity. As reported by Mid-day, emergency services rushed to the scene with 12 fire engines, 10 jumbo water tankers, and specialised breathing apparatus vans. Firefighters evacuated nearby shops and cordoned off the area to minimise the risk to civilians.
