Major General G.D. Bakshi

In the latest episode of Sandese Aate Hain, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani sat down with Major General G.D. Bakshi, one of India’s most decorated and outspoken war veterans. She was invited to the retired army general’s home and the two spoke in great detail about General Bakshi’s career, his devotion to the nation, and the India-Pakistan conflict. While they were at it, he also shared some of the achievements of the recently held Operation Sindoor.

Major General G.D. Bakshi Opens About Operation Sindoor

On April 22, 2025, 26 civilians were killed during an attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. While we may be a peace-loving nation, an attack on our people wasn’t something our forces could take silently. On May 7, they launched Operation Sindoor, a befitting counterattack on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan. Talking about this retaliation, General Bakshi shared that five of these attacks took place in PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) and the remaining four in Pakistan’s Punjab.

He revealed that the armed forces were successfully able to destroy the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur. Major General G.D. Bakshi mentioned that they turned massive and luxurious structures into ruins within minutes. Not just that, the Indian Army successfully destroyed the headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen in Sialkot as well.

“Na sirf Pahalgam ka, humne 26/11 ka bacha kucha hisaab bhi chuka diya hai. David Coleman Headley, Ajmal Amir Kasab ki bhi training inhe camps main hui thi. The Pathankot attack was also planned there. The Parliament attack was also planned in one of these camps…bahut saare purane paap hume chukta kar diye hain,” Major Bakshi revealed.

He also spoke about how the Indian side did offer an out to the neighbours and did not want any further damage. However, Pakistan sent 300-350 drones from Srinagar to Bhuj to provoke Indian defence. “Humne ek bhi jaane nahi diya. 100% kill ratio. This is a great achievement in itself. Our air defence was strong. Our S400, Akash One, Akash Two, MR SAM, long-range SAMs…formed a layered defence to protect India,” Major Bakshi further added.

When they didn’t stop there, Major Bakshi shared that the Indian Air Force took charge. They destroyed the air bases of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sargodha. The best part, all Indian aircraft returned without any scratches!
