With summer vacations nearly here, there is a high chance that you are probably travelling for the holidays. And if this holds true for you, you might just be applying for a Schengen Visa. However, out of the 28 Schengen states, there are 10 that are highly likely to reject your visa. Yes, on the basis of the rejection rate based on the number of applications rejected in 2024, these countries are most likely to reject your visa.
Some Schengen Countries Have High Rejection Rates
As revealed in a report by Schengen Visa Info, about 11.7 million visa applications were submitted for all 28 Schengen states. However, out of all the received applications in 2024, 1.7 million of these applications were rejected. Yes, this means that there was an average rejection rate of 14.8 per cent! Going by their statistics, there were some countries that had a higher rejection rate in 2024.
Malta Has The Highest Rejection Rate
While every country rejected in some way, Malta ranked at the top with the highest rejection rate. Yes, with 16,905 rejections out of 45,578 applications received, this country had a rejection rate of 38.5% in 2024. So, it was recognised as the country with the highest rejection rate out of all the 28 states that received visa applications, the previous year.
