That you cannot smoke inside an aircraft is a rule we’re all fairly familiar with. However, there may be certain people who are still not aware of this rule. In this particular case, a man was caught smoking a beedi inside the toilet of an aircraft. On being caught he said that he was unaware of the “no smoking” rule. He was travelling inside an Akasa Air plane along with one other person.
Man Flying For The First Time Was Caught Smoking Beedi
The man, who was identified as M Praveen Kumar, was caught smoking a beedi inside the toilet of the aircraft. The incident took place in an Akasa Air plane which was headed towards the Kempegowda International Airport or the KIA in Bengaluru.
According to Kumar, this was the first time he was flying via an aeroplane and he was unaware that smoking inside the aircraft was prohibited. He was travelling with an aged person in order to attend the post-death ceremony of a relative.
Kumar was arrested on account of endangering the lives of co-passengers by smoking inside the plane toilet. According to him, since he was used to travelling in Indian Railways, he had a habit of smoking inside the toilets on trains. He thought he could do the same here.

First Time At KIA That A Person Was Arrested For Smoking Beedi
Kumar is a labourer from Marwar Junction in Rajasthan who is 56 years old. This was the first time he was flying in a plane. The flight was from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru. Hence, it is plausible that he was unaware that smoking is not allowed inside aircraft.
According to an article by the Times of India, this is the first time that a man has been arrested at the KIA for smoking a beedi. The authorities think that the major reason this happened was a failure in frisking. If the man had been frisked thoroughly, then the cigarette packet would have been found.
