If you are an owner of a car, you know parking can be quite a pain in the neck. From trying to find good parking spots to parking fines and bills, there are problems galore when you have a car. Recently, someone shared the exorbitant bill they had to pay for parking their car at the Indira Gandhi International Airport or IGIA, popularly known as the Delhi Airport. But that was not the end of his misery.

According to an article which was recently published by News18, the man left his car parked at the Delhi airport on August 17, 2024. When he returned on August 26, 2024, he found that it had racked up a bill of ₹5,770! To put things into perspective, this is more than the entire round trip to Lucknow costs! On September 3, 2024, a roundtrip to the UP city from Delhi cost around ₹5,672.
He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared that the exorbitant bill was not the only problem he had. In the video, he said that despite being parked, the car had managed to acquire scratches. What is more, part of the door handle had been broken.
In the caption accompanying the post, he said that this was the worst experience he had ever had. He went on to call the tagline “safe and secure” rubbish.
This Is What Netizens Had To Say About His Post
If you are travelling by air again in future, park your car at any no parking area and after return pay the challan and take back your car. Bytheway, ola/uber is best. 😂

Many people took to the comments section and expressed their surprise at the negligence shown by the airport authorities. There were some people who said that given that every airport has a clear-cut rate, he should have been more prudent in leaving his car there.
Dear Deepak,
We regret the inconvenience caused to you. We request you to share your contact number and vehicle number via DM (Direct Message) for us to look into it. https://t.co/3OUc8zt3ZV

There were yet others who advised him to never leave one’s personal car at an airport when going on a vacation. Instead, they suggested to book a cab or an auto.
Every airport parking has a clear cut rate, based on duration. He is simply sensationalising…why does he park the car that longer..
