Man’s Tweet About Vietnamese Cafe Owner’s Kindness Shows How Hospitality Transcends Language Barrier

An X user, Sujit took to the microblogging site to share a heartwarming story of his interaction with a Vietnamese café owner during his trip to Hanoi in 2022. Indian Tourist Shares Sweet Anecdote About Vietnamese Cafe Owner

Suji shared a post on X where he shared a beautiful anecdote of his trip to Hanoi, Vietnam in 2022. In the post, he shared a video of the famous Train Street. He was in a cafe on Train Street, a popular narrow lane in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. At this popular street, many locals transformed their old houses into cosy cafes selling egg coffees, pho and other Vietnamese delicacies to hungry tourists.

Another video shows the X user sitting in the cafe where surprisingly he’s watching a Bollywood Dino Morea-Bipasha Basu song on TV. Now isn’t this home away from home? The third picture shows Suji and his friend relishing a wholesome meal with the Vietnamese café owner, his wife and his son.

In the caption, Suji narrates that he visited a local cafe for drinks during his visit to Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital in 2022. Despite a language barrier between himself and the Vietnamese café owner, the duo still bonded and shared heartwarming moments together. They used Google Translate to communicate with each other. Surprisingly, Suji said that the owner invited him and his friend for dinner with his family.

Well, Suji’s post and pictures are testimony to the “true hospitality” he experienced in Hanoi. Surpassing language barriers, the cafe owner not just opened his shop but also his heart to the Indian tourists. And they all ended up relishing a delicious meal together. Suji and his friend got the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Vietnam. Netizens are absolutely thrilled to hear this story.

 

Many shared their personal experiences of interacting with locals in Vietnam. @patebaaz commented on finding Vietnamese people one of the most friendly people in Southeast Asia despite all the language barriers. @shkhr_sardonic stated that he was mesmerised by how street hawkers in Vietnam openly use smartphones to disrupt language barriers and help with negotiations.
