Mathura: 50 Hospitalised Due To Suspected Food Poisoning After Janmashtami Festivities

In an unfortunate turn of events, at least 50 people suffered from symptoms of suspected food poisoning and had to rush to hospitals in Mathura for treatment. The scary incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday during Janmashtami festivities. Officials shared necessary information concerning the alarming episode reported in a town and here’s everything you need to know.

According to a report by Business Standard, these people started facing various symptoms after eating fritters during Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura. These fritters were cooked using buckwheat flour and at least 50 people in the crowd fell sick and dealt with symptoms of suspected food poisoning after consuming the fried food items. It was quite late at night when the news of devotees falling sick was reported. According to reports, the duration of the incident was the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The huge number of patients included children, teenagers, and women as well. Many started feeling weak following the mishap. Many patients complained about vomiting too. Parkham Singh lives in Uttar Pradesh’s Parkham village and he rushed to a hospital to admit a patient on Tuesday. He said that many people faced health issues such as dizziness and shivering.

In addition to all these, he also shared that about 50 residents of his village started feeling unwell and faced different symptoms after eating these fritters of kuttu ka atta, also known as buckwheat flour. The flour was bought from a local grocery store in his village.

According to a report by The Times of India, a patient’s husband complained about his wife not being able to stand up as she became weak and almost reached a state of unconsciousness.

A Doctor Shared Important Details

As per a report by Business Standard, a doctor revealed that 29 patients suffering from anxiety and vomiting issues were admitted to the hospital at 1 AM. He also shared that more patients were hospitalised in other hospitals. All patients underwent proper care and treatment and their health conditions improved as well.
