As revealed in a report by the Gulf News, travel agents are ramping up their efforts to rope in more travellers for last-minute getaway options. Offering fantastic deals and additional offers, they are catering to the people who are planning their vacations, the last minute. This comes at a time when Eid al-Adha bookings are actually up by 15%. The figures compare to the previous year, and this rise shows a strong requirement for outbound travel. In fact, the travel demand during this break is 30% higher as compared to the regular periods.

The top destinations for UAE travellers this Eid al-Adha are countries like Thailand, Japan, and Turkey. With the consistent year-on-year growth, travellers are also booking popular destinations, such as the Maldives, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, and Mauritius. Choices of destinations show that travellers are preferring destinations that are just a short flight away. With these kinds of destinations offering more convenience, people are choosing to plan a more laid-back and longer holiday for the summer after July.

Most Short-Haul Travellers Are Planning A 4-Day Holiday

According to experts, most travellers who are booking nearby getaways are planning a four-day holiday. While those looking to plan a vacation in a more distant destination are choosing about six days.
