Meals At Janhvi Kapoor’s Home Are A Mix Of North India & South India

Janhvi Kapoor

Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, got candid with the gorgeous actor Janhvi Kapoor at her lovely Bandra home. It is the most relaxing interview on Sunday Brunch we have ever filmed on Curly Tales. And we loved every part of it, right from the homecooked meals to fun conversations about her childhood memories, films and more. While talking about her love for food, we noticed how her food choices are an amalgamation of North and South Indian cuisine. Read on to find out more.

A North Indian And South Indian Meal At Janhvi Kapoor’s Home

It was time to gorge on flavoursome homecooked food prepared at Janhvi’s house. An army of staff came with numerous trays filled with food items. The actor called them the “ladies of the house” and introduced us to them. They slowly set up the table for us and brought out bowls of idli, dosa, chicken curry, moong dal chilla, paneer bhurji, dal, achar, dahi and the list goes on.

Janhvi was hungry and couldn’t wait to tuck in. She took a chilla, paneer bhurji and another sabzi and began her brunch. She multitasked by engaging in delightful conversations while feasting.

She Happily Combines These Two Cuisines

It was evident that she combines north Indian and south Indian cuisine quite often and enjoys doing so. Why wouldn’t she? Janhvi is the daughter of Sridevi, a south Indian, and Boney Kapoor, a Punjabi! She was completely unfazed about any potential callouts for fusing these distinct cuisines and happily continued with her meal.

Janhvi also pointed to the meal in front of her and said, “This is half-Punjabi, half-south Indian; this is like every day!” Mixing north-Indian and south-Indian food might throw some people off but not Janhvi! Multi-lingual kids with parents from extreme parts of the country are brought up with diverse food, traditions, religions, languages and more.
