Kamiya Jani, our Editor-in-Chief, met the actor and gorged on a delectable Pan-Asian meal while chatting about the differences between Delhi and Mumbai, her acting journey and more. Medha Shankr Recalled Her Audition For ‘12th Fail’
Medha Shankr was always keen on stepping into the world of glitz and glam. Acting was her passion; she worked hard and accomplished her goal of entering Bollywood. While reflecting on her professional career, she shared her audition process for the 2023 film, ‘12th Fail’.
The actor stated that this special moment is etched in her memory and will forever be! Medha recalled that the whole audition process was a lengthy one. After a week, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra wanted to screen-test her and notified her of the same.
She said with a sweet smile on her face, “Once I did that audition, that screen test with Vidhu sir, I went back home and there was just like a divine knowing that this is happening!” Although she was sure of signing ‘12th Fail’, she was a tad bit doubtful as some other actor was also called for the screen test.
Ultimately, Chopra went with her and made a fabulous film, which awarded Medha with the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut!

How Did Vidhu Vinod Chopra Announce Her As The Lead Actor?
Continuing on the same topic, Medha Shankr spoke about how Vidhu broke the exciting news of casting her as the leading actor in ‘12th Fail’. One fine afternoon, he called up Medha and requested her to switch the phone on speaker mode so her father could hear him. As Medha’s heart began to pound, Vidhu happily declared, “Mr. Shankr, your daughter is the leading lady of our film. Congratulations!”
The actor was beaming with pride as she concluded the ‘12th Fail’ auditioning anecdote. Our hearts were brimming with love and happiness as we heard her narrate this precious memory! This is such a sweet and beautiful memory for the father-daughter duo!
