Living in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, Nzuri, the male lion with curly hair, has taken the internet by storm. He was recently photographed lounging around in his home, looking every bit like a model. Sure, we have seen countless lion photos online, but this one? He’s clearly keeping up with the curly hair trend ruling social media these days.

He might have been hidden from the world until now, but thanks to photographer Kambiz Pourghanad, who shared his pictures on Instagram, Nzuri is now a global sensation. Netizens can’t get enough of his good looks. We all know lions are known for their straight manes, so why does Nzuri have curls? According to a report by The Times of India, genetics, weather, and high humidity in the Masai Mara have played a role. The report also suggests that rain in the area may have caused his mane to dry into those beautiful waves and curls.
