With an illustrious career spanning 45 years of filmography boasting 156 titles and having danced his heart out in 537 songs, actor Chiranjeevi is a legend in the Indian film industry. The Guinness World Records honoured the actor in Hyderabad on September 22, 2024, to celebrate his stupendous performances. Megastar Chiranjeevi is officially a Guinness World Record holder, recognised for being the ‘Most Prolific Star in Indian Cinema’.
Chiranjeevi Honoured With Guinness World Record
On September 22, which incidentally marks the same day Chiranjeevi made his debut in 1978, he officially became a Guinness World Record holder. Telugu superstar AKA Megastar Chiranjeevi was honoured by The Guinness World Records. They awarded him the ‘Most Prolific Star in Indian Cinema’, celebrating the thespian’s illustrious career. Actor Aamir Khan and a member of the Guinness team handed him the award on September 22.
Having enthralled his fans with films like Rudra Veena, Tagore and Indra, Chiranjeevi was also bestowed with the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and Padma Vibhushan for his distinguished service, earlier this year. The Tagore actor has performed 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs over 46 years. To date, no other actor in and outside India has achieved this feat. While the actor has performed in over 150 films, the Guinness team has only included 143.

While addressing the audience, at the celebratory event, Chiranjeevi called the moment “unforgettable”. He admitted to never seeking any recognition from the Guinness World Records, yet feeling “incredible” to be honoured for his dancing. It was dancing that made him a star and ushered numerous awards throughout his career. He credited his directors, producers, music directors and choreographers.
“If you notice him in any song of his, his whole heart is in it,” Aamir Khan spoke fondly, admiring the legend. The actor presented Chiranjeevi with the honour. And spoke admiringly about the megastar’s unique quality of enjoying himself during his dance performances in his films.
Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his son Ram Charan’s wife and entrepreneur Upasana Konidela, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao and other fans and well-wishers took to X to congratulate the actor.
