Abu Dhabi has announced its plans to upgrade 13 km of major roads in Mussafa. The plan includes building a new expressway and two bridges. The two bridges would link the industrial area to Mohammad bin Zayed City. Not to mention, there would also be improvements to several junctions with the aim of reducing congestion and journey time.
Major Road Work Announced In Abu Dhabi
As revealed by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, this project could cover a section of E30 Road. Not to mention, Street 8 and Mussafa would also be covered. As a result, it would improve the connection between the Industrial District, Zayed City, and Mohammed bin Zayed City.
The Road Works Will Happen In Mussafa
The main feature of this development would be a new expressway, which would run along Street 8. There will be three lanes in each direction and three additional lanes on either side. Together, these would offer access to shops and businesses, along with other facilities, without there being any disruption to traffic on the main carriageway. Once the road is upgraded, it can accommodate about 4,000 vehicles per hour. This would have to separate traffic from vehicles that are travelling to local destinations.

What Does The Scope Of Project Include?
The project will also include improvements to four junctions, which would be along the E30, enhancing connection with Street 8. Nine major intersections will also be improved along the E20. This is one of the major industrial and commercial districts in Abu Dhabi. These roads would serve residents travelling to work, businesses transporting goods, and people travelling throughout the day.
This road improvement is part of wider efforts that aim to strengthen transport that would link across Abu Dhabi. Among the projects that are being planned is an underwater road connection. This would include two tunnels that would link the eastern side of Abu Dhabi Island with Mussafa. It should be noted that the proposed route would pass beneath the Khor Al Maqta and the Hudayriyat Island Channel. Not to mention, it would create an additional connection between the island and the industrial district.
So once the project is complete, it is bound to improve the travel experience for the people.
