If you’ve ever wondered what makes a place feel built for endurance racing, let me point you straight to AlUla. Saudi Arabia’s AlUla isn’t just “good” for the sport but almost perfect for it. Hence, AlUla has unveiled the launch of a racecourse ahead of the upcoming 2026 FEI Endurance World Championship.

AlUla Set To Unveil A Racecourse For Endurance Racing

Why AlUla? Well, how about riding through valleys that open into wide plains, then suddenly cutting across clean stretches of desert that feel like they go on forever? The terrain shifts under your horse’s hooves in the best way possible. Picture firm sand, a rocky line followed by a wide, open stretch that lets rider and horse find a steady rhythm. It becomes exciting and challenging together.

A racecourse in such terrains means it’s going to be surprising across each turn and track. From smooth trails blending with rugged tracks, and racing past rock formations can make things rough for you. These natural structures play a major role in shaping the course in a way that pushes riders to think fast, adjust, and stay focused. Spectators love it too.

In Time For 2026 FEI Endurance World Championship

According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, as a part of preparations for the 2026 FEI Endurance World Championship, AlUla is building a new course that passes right through Hegra. The legendary archaeological site that made UNESCO’s World Heritage List. So, expect racing through ancient tombs and sandstone wonders. It’s a sports event along with a cultural moment.

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI), the Saudi Equestrian Federation (SAEF), and the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) have partnered to raise the sport’s standards and put Saudi Arabia on the global equestrian map.

About Al Fursan Equestrian Village

One of their biggest wins is the Al Fursan Equestrian Village. Imagine a purpose-built home base for riders, with everything from training areas to team facilities. The destination is carefully designed to protect the landscape and fit AlUla’s sustainable vision.

AlUla already has a track record of hosting major events, including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, the richest endurance race in the world. And the success of those events sealed the deal for the 2026 championship.

So, AlUla isn’t just hosting races but combining nature, history, and high-level competition on its calendar.
